We shall have happy weekends

After I touched down, the first thing i did was to, GO SHOPPING! Woodbury premium outlet was the destination. As nicole tay says, premium outlet is not where all the rejected goods from brands are sold, that is factory outlet. Premium outlet is just a place to get cheaper goods! but they are usually further away. we took like 2hrs to get there from JFK. at first i thought it wouldnt be such a long journey since it was in NY, wrong. need to change mindset that states are can be bigger than a country!

My first close encounter with snow. Not a very great one considering it was really dirty! ha. i wouldn’t touch it to make snow balls to throw at pple. ha. it stopped snowing when i was there, so maybe no layers of fresh snow to stack up. oh yes, temp was abt a little less than 10degrees? it was nice being away from hot humid weather!

car n nice man who came along with my special someone to pick me. the car was rented thou and rental bills came up to USD170! so ex. mg.

on the way to woodbury. n believe or not, i havent seen more than 3 KFCs while i’m here.

view of the place we’re travelling on. seemed so surreal that just 24hrs ago, i was somewhere else. now, i’m in a snowy place with bluer than blue skies, white mountains, low temp. cool da bian.

This pic reminds me of what i can see in movies when characters are travelling. it is surely something i dont get to see often.

We reached there around 8plus, hence the ample amt of lots. the same cant be said when we were leaving. the WHOLE carpark was filled, with cars awaiting for pple like us to vacant our lot.

welcome to woodbury premium outlet. it’s a pretty big area, i would tink abt the land space of 3 times takashimaya? many brands are available in this area, adidab, nike, hugo, almost u name it, here’s got it. things here are generally cheaper than at normal shopping areas. the stuff may not necessary be the most new fashion, but hey, nice can already right? no need to be at the fashion forefront. have i mentioned it’s cheaper?

Since none of the shops were opened at 8+am, we went on to grab a bite first. this is my first meal here! au bon pain. n my first ever bagel! not too bad, but not like how sandy cohen describes in the OC until like every morning also must have.

The layout of the place is very nice. really very diff from the things i normally see. open space with lots of shops. no elevator or lift to take. n check out the snowy mountains behind! different. just so different.

Most girls come US or have friends who go US ask to buy the same thing, COACH! one actually needs to queue to get in! n mind u, the bags, thou cheaper than outside Coach stores, are still in the $100-$200 range. it’s like kids when they see candy!

Check out what her mama gave her.

My 2nd meal of the day. Fried chicken is everywhere in US but not fish n chips! i used to assume fish n chips will be quite easy to find here BUT fish n chips, according to a smart source, is an English food! Anyway, fish is hard to find here, not just fish n chips in particular. not like chicken, it’s everywhere.

That’s all for now. more posts to come.

4 airports in 24hrs

Hello to whoever is reading. It has been eons since the last post, guess i have been pretty lazy and procrastinating. well, let’s start with a short comeback post that’s filled with pictures of planes and ports.

Good old changi airport.

Twin jet engine Boeing 777-300 that’ll bring me to Hong Kong!

not bad a leg space.

Some upskirt video of the plane.

Reminder not to act hero (reads: attend to yourself then help others).

Quite an empty flight.

Birds’ eye view of the winding roads (who designed them?).

Meal aboard Cathay is not that bad.

Welcome to Hong Kong International Airport. Did you know it’s the most expensive airport built ever (
wiki)?

Why walk the HUGE airport when there’s a train to ferry you around? Comes in 2 or less mins.

I’m actually quite surprised that H1N1 alert is still on.

Magazine shops are always the most crowded in an airport. Also, there are tons of shop inside the airport! Gucci, Baily, CK and even Jimmy Choo.

Pest control corner.

Off to the nxt airport!

Outstanding in-flight entertainment. Tons of recent movies, old movies, serials, cartoons, chinese movies, music, infotainment, etc.

Toilet at Vancouver airport. Go green by using the small flush for piss and small crap.

Trusty Boeing 777-300ER that brought me to Vancouver and to my next destination!

No pics taken at the last airport as it was pretty small and i wanted to get out of there fast!

Next post: The place i am.

fuji.photo.prints.are.cheaper.and.better.than.kodak

I really have no idea why the little nonya was such a popular show. Is it really that nice? or is mediacorp trying to convince itself it is very popular by advertising it is popular and even coming out with a musical? now they are having another serial with the same cast (oh my, how not boring is that right?). I mean if u have so many actors and actresses in your company, use them! else it will be like those HK shows that i watch, always the same grp of pple acting. but i guess this show is smart too. based on the same era as little nonya (which some claims is the best show ever), they can use the same film set, same costumes, cut on logistic works! brilliant. lastly, for mine and everyone’s sake, i hope jeanette aw will not be playin a character that is wilful and stubborn and refuses to bow down to fate. that would be really boring. tink she has been doing that for almost every single show that i have seen her in (tink little nonya, the stubborn nonya that just wants to fight with the chor chor).

All i want for christmas is you (if u r an iPhone). great news for all, i guess sg is quite a unique country cos all it’s operators are gonna sell iPhones! m1, singtel, starhub! now now, isn’t just a good time to get an iPhone? i seriously hope pricing will be competitive, else, why have competition (which is a question i always ask when i look at all 3 operators offering the SAME subscription plan at the SAME price, that hasn’t changed much from more than TEN years ago)? iPhones are gonna be the most popular presents for kids man! i wanna join the brainless trend followers and get an iPhone too (but seriously, not just the looks of the iPhone, the apps are extremely attractive)!

i was so pissed with kodak photo print. It was a rainy day and i went to print my pic. It was the same aspect ratio as a 4R (1.5) and somehow when i print, the top, bottom, left and right were cut off! WTF (what the fork). then i asked the auntie come and help me, i told her kena cut off. so she adjusted the pic for me, everything looked ok on the console, then reprint. slightly better BUT still kena cut off! wat the hell is wrong with their software? then i still had to pay $1 for photos they failed to print properly. it’s not the amount (ya, right), but the fact that i had done everything right and came down on a rainy day, yet nth is working as planned. useless kodak. a few days ltr, i went to harvey norman fuji to print. and all i can say is, NO PROBLEMS. and it’s $0.35/pc. cheaper and just better. the colors look better to me too. so kodak, even if it’s more convenient, i will NOT go to u again, cos fuji is just cheaper and gave me the output i wanted.

i.know.i.shouldnt

Recently I was privileged to have been given a free NUS alumni email account. And it’s for life with 10gb space, etc. Unfortunately, trying to set the account has been a pain to me.

First, I got the postal mail. 3 Easy steps ya? So i went to the site.

If you tried to look for the link, it’s in the green box. Only at this page and clickin the Activate will bring u to somewhere slightly more useful. Strange they didn’t include this important activate link anywhere else on their other pages. ONLY this page. Not even the page where they introduce the email at their privilege link.

Clicking that link brings you here. I actually scanned through the policy. Basically says they have no liability for another bad that happens on the email and that users shouldnt misuse it. okies, standard stuff.

You would think that clicking Acknowledge AUP by Mail (previous pic) would activate the mail. NO. This is the page where u have to manually fill in everything. You would tink that they already have your details. nvm, type in everything. click submit and viola! NOTHING happens! NOTHING. Then you read the bottom part (ignore the missing capital letter). Super unclear. Does the ‘if u do not have client email application…’ apply for the part where i fill in the form OR the part about sending further enquiry? Please, why assume everyone uses client email apps? And if the registration can’t be complete without one, state that at the top of the form! To tink i click submit > 10 times cos i wasnt sure if my date format was correct (something they failed to state as well).

after initally failing to register for the mail, i looked back at the email sent to my old sch email acct. Seeing the THREE EASY steps makes me tink the other way. Why can’t they give me a direct link to activate my alumMail rather than giving me www.alumnet.nus.edu.sg? And since i din register properly the first 10,000 times, natually I didn’t get the email confirmation. To tink they really tink the steps are easy and dare to use Viola! ya, more like Viola, it’s not 3 easy steps at all.

So finally, i borrowed an client email app from HY dearest, then realized that the form i filled in the 2nd previous pic would pop up the client email app with a constructed email with the data i just typed in. Cant they just make a form that would submit to database immediately? Simply outsource it to any SoC module project and implement the best project will do. it’s all free. And the worst part? submitting the email requires a HUMAN at the other end to receive the email and read before sending out the confirmation email. VOMIT BLOOD! u would think technology is well used. Poor edward probably has to read like 10,001mails (with me sending in 10,000) per day on top of his usual work. I wonder why cant they just automate this step. Worst, why can’t they skip this step when they can simplify it by clickin a ‘I Agree’ button then lead me to my new email acct, bypassing the particulars filling part.

Anyway, the story hasn’t ended for me. I cant log in the mail. I wonder is it problem with my side or theirs. Sigh. I just want to get this email set up!

For a free email account, I seem to kick up a great deal of fuss and ungratefulness. but i tink, if you wanna provide smth, do it wholeheartedly and K.I.S.S (googling KISS made me realize cs2301 adopted alternate meaning to this bacronym)!

u.mean.u.din.know

Perfume studies anyone?

$1 petrol also kena complained. n that korean ass, 800 pple wait for him then he cancel. is he worth it? n on another note, the mall’s objective is to attract these shoppers hoping to convert them into ‘genuine’ shoppers.

so jealous sia, their grads get their names published in newspaper.

I will give u the 10th reason, i am suay. how many times have i seen the bus drive right pass me while i am still across the road.

if it’s so thin, shouldnt it break? anw, i dont get the ‘it feels like your own skin’ part and the needle poking the condom part, i aint gonna take a needle to part my own kkb u know?

for all u crazy folks who queued up madly for the hello kitty toys at mcdees years ago, guess u shld be excited abt this.

I certainly did not know they were rules for these bikes. all i know they are occupyin the road and need not pay road tax and block my damn way.

this is such a brilliant idea! i think some pple have a negative connotation with renting a gown, but tink of it, u have a great variety of choices, u can constantly have different gowns and it doesn’t take up space in the cupboard filled with clothes u bought from sale and never seen the daylight since!

who is rubina u ask? one of the slumdog millionarie stars. asking for too much?

That is a little sad. Maybe the business didn’t move with the times? Maybe wrong expansion strategy? Anw, the founder is called DAVE. oh, there’s closing down sale, so for u authentic CD lovers, time to go check it out.
