today’s topic is plastic surgery. Plastic surgery changes/enhances the appearance and function of a person’s body/face. The word "plastic" derives from the Greek plastikos meaning to mold or to shape; its use here is not connected with the synthetic polymer material known as plastic. Plastic surgeons typically mold, reshape and reconstruct the following tissues of the body: bone, cartilage, muscle, fat, and skin.

i tink more pple are concerned abt comestic surgery more than reconstructive surgery (like facial damages derived from accidents). Comestic surgery includes: tummy tuck, eyelid surgery, boob job, butt implants, nose job, face lift, liposuction, chin augmentation, etc. So is doing plastic surgery to achieve wat u want justified?

well, there’s generally 2 answers to this. Yes and No.

yes. in this day and age, thoughts are different. we achieve wat we want to achieve and there’s little to stop us. we do wat we want. that’s the new generation of thots. much like the "freedom" that americans frequently speak off. moving from being collectivists to individualists where personal goals are more relevant compared to group goals; we care more about our goals than wat others tink or say abt our goals. Surgical procedures have also somewhat proven to be more safe. u hear less n less pple have complications after surgery. Also, plastic is merely a more exagerated form of going for facial treatments, haircut, braces, etc. it ultimately shares the same goal, looking good. Media is probably the most powerful influence. perfect celebrities are seen on tv. complete makeover program shows. how one just wish to be like their idols or seen as more perfect; and guess wat, its totally possible.

no. we shld instead focus on the innner beauty inside of us. wat’s so good abt lookin like a goddess when u r stupid, manipulative, cunning, despicable, and whatever bad trades. beauty will only last for that first few impressions b4 pple get turned off. also, beauty can only last u for a few decades. aging is inevitable. and if pple only respect u for your beauty, well, that’s not really a great achievement, cos there’s always someone equally beautiful, or even more beautiful out there. character counts too.

to summarize. is it justitfied? well, i have a 3rd answer. it depends! if plastic makes u more confident/a better person/happier/anything that’s positive, why not? go ahead. but do know yourself well enuff b4 u go ahead and do it. find the true cause of a problem b4 applyin a solution. if u r doin it cos ur bf/gf/neighbour/crush likes it, do tink otherwise. special pple are supposed to love u the way u r, not love u cos of the way they wan u to be. and as to fiona xie having plastic, i’m totally cool with it. just dont be like dawn yang (the blogger), being in constant denial she has had plastic done to her doll like face.

About 9 days have passed since exams ended. Havent been doing much except slacking around and playin? Anyway, I decided I must at least set some goals for this 3 months. First, ATTEMPT to learn jap. Second, ATTEMPT to play guitar more often. Third, set more goals. ha. still tinking shld i work at spca. and also starbucks. i scare work starbucks will burn weekend away. then pple have inserted new ideas about working at bens and jerrys. pay is $6/hr. not shabby at all. or shld i get a more serious part time job? tech support? sigh-ness.

met with some army friends for dinner at marina square at a place called fins seafood. afforable prices. about $10 for fish n chips after gst n svc charge. this pic was the view i had at the place.

went settler’s with casper, zw and chinta on 12th. played some dice game, cashflow and ‘i am boss’. ha. interesting games. but i realize i suck shit at negotiating. cashflow reminded me of my finance module.

Finally went zouk. tink i havent been there since sch started around 4mths ago. took some pics. but as usual, not my cam. thus i tink i wun be seeing it. ha.

my nice proj leader acting cute. and he was the nice guy to help me look for an adsl modem to borrow. somemore go his place to collect that time, he let me sample nice chocolate cake he made. wa lau. nicest guy on earth liao. next sem must make him my team leader again.

my grp is damn kiasu lor. 5/6 of us borrowed the book to read for the exams. anyway, one of the proj came back recently, and we got 25/30. personally, am quite happy considering the amt of effort we put in. sshhhh. dont tell teacher.

HDB carparks are really very small. from this angle seems like very big rite? but if u were there, u will see that space constraint is a big problem. i was too lazy to reverse and forward x 1000000000000000 times to get it in the lot, so i just left the car like this. anyway, HDB should design bigger lots. doesnt mean we pay little parking fees means we deserve tiny lots.

Exams are OVER! since 10th. this sem the exams were a little unexpecting. in a sense, i felt it was easy and i know it is not supposed to be. higher level modules require CRITICAL thinking (which i dont have). some of the papers were even open book. some can even write in point form. one of my friends said the exam was a copy and paste exam. were the lecturers trying to trick us so that they can filter out who are the true A students who have that critical ability expected of a honours student? well, i will find out by the end of this month. oh, and i din finish my finance paper. nth new here. i din finish accounts paper last sem too. not very good with exam hall stress, lack of sleep and calculations. anyway, i thot i shld be super happy that exams are over, but now i am feelin kinda bored already. so fast rite? sigh. gone are the days where i could just spend time at home and be happy. now i get bored at home. anyway, spend my time watchin gossip girl, desperate housewives, csi: miami, house, cashmere mafia, the new 9pm ch8 show and just watchin watever show me parents are watching. ya, i can almost hear "wa, dave, u watch a lot of tv". i tink so too. i tink i am going to catch ghost whisperer and deathnote anime soon. maybe i shld get a part time job. starbucks? some labour job, so can earn some money and build my miniture biceps? tech support? sim lim fixing computers?

rushed down with BB to ikea to buy the poang chair as ikea was having a sale till 4th may and selling it for $99. then while looking for poang, came across pello. i couldnt really tell the difference other than the cushion (which is changable) and the armrest design. so in the end i bought the pello (cheaper) as i was indifferent btw the two. anyway, when i came home, i quickly checked out the internet to see how long my moneymoon was (if there was a big diff, my moneymoon would have ended). and i still cant find much a diff, other than one is designer designed, while the other is Ikea designed. the price diff is more than half. Anyway, 4th may is last day of sale, check out www.ikea.com.sg for offers. oh, and if u havent noticed, i rushed down to buy a non-sale item. oh. and i found how they juggled the words like resilence, layer glued, bentwood frame, birch, relax between the 2 chair description pretty amusing. feel like they are just trying to smoke me.
