projects are giving me headaches. recess week is like a normal sch week. the schedule is the same, except instead of entering lecture halls to listen, i enter meetings to discuss. now is not the time to be sick but i have been coughing for a week already. sigh.

sometimes i just wan to go home and know there’s someone at the end of the tunnel. someone.

on a sunday in august, the gang went to msia to kart! i tink fok and i were inspired by F1, by the rest just went for fun! well, the day started with driving in, ate paper-wrapped lunch at de xing (the chicken was really quite nice), then off we went to find the place. but the place moved and it was a while before we found the new location. the new location is pretty ulu la.. as can be seen from the 3rd pic, is those forested area types one. the place was like 3km into the forest. can u imagine if it was a scam and we were heading towards an ambush point? anyway, it wasnt la. we found the place and we were still safe. the track is not that small and not that big, but overall not bad la. can roughly see the overview of the track in the 4th pic. got uphill, downhill and those oh so tight corners we all love. and i spun out a couple of times. but it was great! 35RM per 10mins though. not that cheap, BUT cheaper by SG by more than half! the cars were also ok, and there were helmets to use (though i brought my own helmet). the day ended with A&W (ya, sillyporeans damn deprived, nv eat A&W b4) and a car wash at some random place. Great day!

went to watch superband twice during the past few months. thanks to sister who got the tix. have always liked live music and i wanted to see a live broadcast production process. i tink was pretty interesting. like when the camera zooms in at the host, the next playing band will be like setting up, while viewers at home have no idea what’s happening. it’s like the host has to buy some time for the band to set up. then there’s the man who signals the judges when the comments are getting too long. and the staff always knows where to stand and instruct (even while recording is happening) without being caught on camera. every recording has to be timed perfectly, like band playing times, judges comments, hosts’ talking, adverts. so i tink it was pretty cool.

went to NUS jam and hop. sadly, i tink it was a little disappointing. i tink there wasnt much publicity done. and the place wasnt exactly decorated suitably, the only right thing was turning off the lights. maybe the sch din allow. or the organizers din wan to do it. who knows. there was one free alcoholic coffee drink though, probably sponsered by the brand of coffee called Hugo. and i tink zouk contributed the lights and probably sound system. from the 1st pic, u can tell it still pretty much looks like MPSH, the place where NUS students have exams, except for the stage part. and it was more like a live concert of bands than u know, clubbing music. and the chop they gave was PATHETIC (refer to 2nd pic)! looked like a blue smuch. and the bouncer like damn act cool. i was coming back from the toilet, then the requeue line was just next to the new entry line, seperated by a simple barricade. then someone was blocking the requeue line (blocking means not queueing but just blocking), so i walked the new entry line. the stupid brainless himbo bouncer pointed me to (yes, pointed, din even open his stupid mouth) the requeue line. SO STUPID. the lines were just side by side and both lines lead to the main entrance (where he was standing). wat a himbo. din help he was ugly. anyway, jam and hop 2008 needs some improvement and let’s hope 2009 will be better.

timbre came to sch! and this i must say, was GOOD!!! i tink it’s really like bringing some fun into boring old sch. ya. bands that played that nite were the same as those that played at timbre itself. there was a cute girl in one of the bands too (i better go timbre more often). haha. and there was free beer (but i din take any cos i’m not a fan of beer, and by the time i wanted, no more liao). food was simple but relatively good also. recommended if u r a live music fan and happen to be in NUS the next time they’re there! and poor sister lost her cards and card holder that day. sad.

went to SIM to see fok and wu grad. ha. first time there. reminds me of poly (i tink cos NUS and NTU like very old). went there to eat free laksa (which fok says is damn good).

the time was like 7:55 to 8:00 (refer to the top part of the ERP board) and the bottom clock shows 0:01am. no, the system is definitely not perfect. but the good news was the ERP contiued charging like normal, thus not affecting cashflows. so dont delight too fast abt the malfunction.

had streak at Millenia Walk foodcourt. not bad. quite nice. recommended by fok. and the price was like a little more than $10. u can pick your side dish (much like Aston). i would recommend it too. considering that its in town, where laksa can cost $4-$5, why not top up like $0.50-$1 for a chicken chop or fish and chips?

Good evening world. This weekend has been pretty not filled. Ha.

Friday was supposed to watch Red Cliff with the gang but sort of got cancelled because dearest sister got to go home for her niece birthday or something. So I ended up hanging out with steven at the SoC mooncake festival thingy. Talk cock with him a lot. And also talked more than 5mins with the African for the very first time. Oh. And half my OG was there, well, the girls basically, except yanling, tink she went home sleep or something. Too bad I didn’t take pictures that day, but I should think facebook should have bah.

Saturday, slacked at home for the most part. ALMOST went to swim but cancelled in the end. So time I hit the notes. Haven’t really been reading them. So I said I shall try. Finish like a few pages. Sigh. Watched ‘21’ the movie. Not very impressed, the ending like anyhow write one. Then went to do present for Joanna Wong Hong Rui, cos it was her birthday and I going for her party that night. Then ran into many problems. No wrapping paper, no tape. Used magazine pages and masking tape in the end. Can u imagine? I gave her a simple frame, cos I din know wat to buy, should have found someone to share. Anyway, her party quite cute, she got this like ‘ms universe’ vale thing made by her friend and a tiara thing. Ha. And got lucky draw to give visitors prize. Ha. Anyway, if u’re reading, HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY! i tink having a chalet is a good place for long time friends to have a reason to hang out. perhaps i shld get a chalet too? so that i can get all my old friends to just come and hang out?

hello all. it has been a while since i last blogged. i havent exactly blogged a lot during this past few months? getting lazy. well, few things happened over the past few months. and i mean really few. tink my life is not exactly very eventful. past few months i:

• went for SoC Camp
• went for SoC Freshmen orientation week
• Took over my brother’s room. The decor is about 80% done now. will upload pics very soon
• Setup a ‘new’ comp for myself
• bought a new bike. my vespa
• bidded and settled all my mods
• started training for IPPT. so dreaded
• limited self reflection
  

I think there are 2 reasons why i like to go to camps, hmm.. make it 3. First, i would want to see wat i can help out with. yes, believe it or not, i am a helpful person. if i can help, i will try. Second, i like the experience of going to camps. U r like in a different world during the camp days. all u have to worry about is within the camp. u need not worry abt other things (well, at least i dont). and there are so many other things to do to take your mind of other things. and how can u tell if its a good camp? its when the end of the camp comes, u just so dont wan it to. Third, the reason i tink most would not believe, and i feel it hard to believe myself too. i like to meet new pple! ya. unbelieveable. wat ever happened to the anti-social dave. quiet. dao looking. well, i am still quite all of the above, but i am constantly trying to change all that. still dont talk well with strangers, but i try. yes, i admit i need to change! at least i tink its for the better.

room. almost done, except need to pack up. i have laid my carpet, setup my room ‘theatre’. the idea has always been to decor it to a nice place to hang out. am quite satisfied now. sitting on my couch typing this. may invite nice pple over. ha. the painting of the room done by my mum and I. we love DIY. reason being, if we can do it ourselves, we no need to get others to do it for us. i guess its good training for me, to save money, and develop some biceps. of cos i painted the harder to paint parts, cant get my mum to do that rite? i also painted my old room so that my 2nd brother can move in there. anyway, my room is like black and white walls, red ceiling. imagine that! still got some work to do, but i guess will do the rest slowly. the new comp was actually made up of old parts that i bought on hardwarezone and vr-zone forums. from experience, i realized that i dont really need state of the art, world-class and super fast computers. i tink computers 2-3 years back are actually very much usable today. the notion of having a computer that is very fast is really over-rated (trust me, i do IT one). but of cos, if ur budget permits, go ahead and get your world-class computers la. =) intend to use the comp to watch movies and record tv and stuff. the theme to the room is Hang Out corner after all.

well, this has been an extremely long post. i tink i have sat here for 1 hour already. time to go jog. and do some readings b4 i fall asleep for another day at sch tmr. will leave this post with the movie and song that inspires me to go exercise (this is such a guy thing). i love the song when it reaches the 2min mark. take care friends.
