i tink i am having less inspiration to blog these days.. like i have nth to talk abt no more.. boohoo..

this was taken during the exam week. i am by no means sayin i am popular. wat i meant was i tink pple nows-adays use facebook to destress. cos when u r studyin for your papers, u cant afford too much entertainement, even if it meant to destress (unless u r reuben tan, nicole tay, etc), and facebook is ideal. u log in, write on someone’s wall, stalk pple and u found yourself a 15min entertainment to destress! then back to the books!

my results came back and i aint too happy abt it.. i am not upset, just not happy. no A again. i nv got a single A in NUS. sigh. anyway, these are like just 1 year of notes in NUS. can u imagine 4 years? my goodness.. trees are dying. oh, and i am sure some of u would have noticed the leopard skin thing. ha. more abt it next time.

while still being sick (remember i had a anus that could pee), i went to youth camp! it was nice seeing friends again. and mat was there too! that chap hasnt been ard much but he’s back! anyway, that was the among of spagetti he ate! i ate like 1/4 his amount (being small and having a leaky anus). to have a better understand how much he ate, compare the size of the can of mushroom to his plate. seriously, HUGE amount! that man can eat!

went to chinatown for a farewell dinner for reuben, jian jian and hong pang. interesting place to have farewell dinner. ha. zhi cha. tink i mentioned in my previous post liaoz. anyway, just a pic of i dont know wat this building is called.

william’s rojak on far east 4th floor (in another restuarant also called cahaya). i tink its supposed to taste damn nice! cos many pple went to the shop just to buy rojak. and i dont know is uncle william work slow or he really got a lot of orders (i tink its a bit of both), but the waiting time is damn long! and many pple still eager to wait! anyway, after eating, i still couldnt tell the madness. ha. i mean, surely it is above average rojak, but very long waiting time. anyway, the sign board still say extra zhup (gravvy) need $3! wow! that’s the price of one rojak itself! and u can see in the above pic uncle william dont give too much zhup! anyway, try when queue is short.

was out shopping with Mr Wang for girls’ best friend! need to do some grown up shopping. anyway, he taught me the 3Cs to diamond but then ltr i learnt there were 4Cs, so maybe i just wasnt listening.
Carat – size of diamond. instead of saying 0.2carats, u can say 20pointers too. obviously higher carat, higher price.
Clarity – refers to how much flaw the diamond has. obviously less flaw, higher price.
Color – diamonds actually have a difference in color. the whiter or clearer, the higher price.
Cut – the ideal diamond cut is 57. the word ideal here refers to the standard cut (or facets or sides) is 57. some other brands like say lee hwa destinee can have 66 cuts (i tink is lee hwa, or maybe it was some other brand). the picture above is from a shop from wisma called charlotte. it has 105 facets. and because this 105 sided diamond was cut at the right angle, it is damn shiny! and it doesnt mean if the diamond has more sides surely mean more shiny, but it must be at the correct angles.
so a small charlotte diamond can be shiner than a big ideal cut diamond. so it all depends on wat a customer wants. the price will be a trade-off of all the 4Cs. maybe like one can choose carat over cut and get a bigger but not so shiny diamond. or choose a smaller carat for a flawless diamond. but if u have a money plant at home with leaves that are dollar notes, no trade-off is required. to end of the topic of diamonds, as someone said, no 2 diamonds are the same.

spent christmas eve at clarence’s mum place. and they had the whole guitar hero world tour set la. in total, they had like 2 guitars, one drum and one mic.the pics above just give u an idea abt how the game is and wat the physical looks like. actually arcade had smth like this long ago. but somehow the producers had some magic copying the idea and making it so popular for home entertainment. anyway, the game is much more fun played as a group (after with so many instruments, how long play alone?) as u can lauf at each other and scold each other. ha. anyway, i tried the drums and only after 4 songs, did i manage to finish 1 song. even a drummer thot it was hard. but i did get used to it in the end. singing was interesting too. it tracks if u have sang in tune. those k-box siao can try BUT since this is an america game with rock songs, there will be no jay chou or mayday. overall, it was a simple but good christmas. next day was just a simple lunch b4 heading home and then to yurong’s place for some light hearted gathering.

went to swisotel cos auntie teo had a hotel room! tink i complain a lot abt the hotel until she damn buay song. but here’s the pros and cons from a layman’s eye.

sound-proof room. u can exercise until very loud and no one will know. okies, maybe not so loud.
great view. see pictures! (click last pic for paranoma)
had a balcony. great for smokers.
CONS:
21" tv. Not LCD tv.
lift indications need upgrading.
lift does not require hotel card for access. good and bad la.
zero contact from service staff. good and bad.

past few days have been bad. had diarhorrea for 4days. had hokkien mee, chao tway tiao, fruit punch and pork rib soup b4 it happened. wonder which was the wrong food. seriously, watery shit everyday several times a day. i wonder wat was my stomach and intestines doing. so bad. then all of a sudden, it stopped. it was such a bad period. i cant even sleep properly cos i may need to rush off to the toilet. yikes. else maybe i could have went for more of SA camp. oh well. anyway, another week is almost gone. why must time always pass so fast. had farewell yest nite for the NOC pple yest, so fun la, going US. flight transportation has really shrunk the world. anyway, things are just gonna be so different.

so did coldplay really do it? i dont know. for those who have no idea who is joe satriani, well, he is a damn famous guitar player. however, his music is not so mainstream as it is just guitar playing. most electric guitarist should know him. he is not a terribly fast player, but his techniques and ways he uses the scales and guitar are his strong points. can go youtube him if u wanna. good inspiration for upcoming guitar players.

it has been noted by someone else that the tempo of the 2 songs are both abt 136bpm. they also share similar chord progression. so this is gonna be a fight. but personal opinion, i tink coldplay din intentionally copy, i mean music only got that few chords, some would even say chinese music sounds the same. and conincidences do happen, like one out of 100000 songs.

This month of holiday has been rather fun i guess. every few days have smth on. can go out. walk walk. talk talk. shop shop. leaving brains at home. but money it seems to be more of a pressing issue. moderate outflow, no inflow. go out watch movie + meal = $20+. Club = >$50. Bigger meals = $20+. wedding = >$100 (thanks to jos and grace. chose so ex hotel). I tink i may declare bankrupt soon. And there’s the trip to taiwan! oh my. Projected forecast of near $2000 gone (still wondering where the money is gonna come from). Broke broke broke.

what have i been up to? shopping for presents for myself and friends. hanging out. wedding.

wedding was at the ritz. congrats to Mr Joshua Koh and Ms Grace Lau. They are like my 3rd friends who got married! the other female in the picture is my secondary 1&2 form teacher. after so many years, still in contact. plus, she doesnt look as old as she’s supposed to be. anyway, the view from the room is NICE! can see far far.. and i was tinkin abt those pple who pay for hotel rooms to watch F1, i guess the view would be like looking at matchboxes zooming here and there! and i was really great to see all my friends again in such a joyous occassion.

went to suntec area to shop. giordano had 40% sale, so i bought jeans and shirt. implusive buying. i couldnt resist the 40%. then at nite din have anywhere to go, so ended up at esplanade and one fullerton. i tink sg really short of nightspots.

random pictures of the black cat. i tink sometimes my phone camera does better than i expect. speakin of cameras, i finally decided to buy a proper digital cam after resisting ALL these years. and when i was considering, only 2 brands came to mind, sony and canon. but most likely getting canon. i have so far only heard good things abt it. and the price is still set within the $300+ range. acceptable la. anyone wants to buy for me? canon a570is or canon a590is. =)

wat do u get when u have a cock driving a car. a cock driver. so the story goes. i parked my bike in a bike lot. and i was just about to go home so i was beside my bike. then there was this car lot behind my bike. so the cock driver wanted to park in it. he reversed his car and even i could hear the reverse sensor in his car beeped (indicating to stop reversing, object behind). but the cock driver continued reversing. so guess who’s bike he knocked? LIM BEI. then after knockin, cock driver still continue reversing his car at due to the law of physics, he was pushing my bike forward and the bike was getting off-balance. and if i wasnt beside my bike at that exact moment, the bike would have been on the floor with scratches on the side. at the moment, i slapped the boot of the cock driver’s car to tell him to stop reversing. after he come out from the car, he din even apologise. i am quite sure cock driver doesnt even know wat has happened. he then went to sit somewhere nearby to smoke, and lucky he did, else i would have made sure my vehicle wasnt the only one with scratches that nite. so to you cock driver, i dont know wat u pray to at nite, but i hope with your cock driver skills, ur god will keep u safe. for the rest of u, look out for the number plate 4238. i din the whole num plate cos i thot it was pretty useless to remember it.

u know wat is worst than studying for 2 hours? watching Mars Attack. I caught is on CH5 on saturday. u can watch the trailer (first video) and out of 10, i give it -1000000. i rather torment myself with my notes. and the martians only have one line. yak yak yak (refer to 2nd video 2:50min). i cant believe jack nicholson and pierce brosnan (and tons of other stars) actually bothered with such a shitty film.

seems like this show is the show of the year of mediacorp. seriously, after watching one episode yest, i tink its pretty BORING. and confusing too. jeanette aw is the led actress. so xiang yun’s her mother. then huang hui is like her nanny or smth. then its a recalling story. confused yet? hope not, cos this part is still simple. now here comes the confusing part. so when they are recalling the story, turns out xiang yun is jeanette’s daughter and huang hui’s character (the nanny) is taking care of xiang yun now. and huang hui and xiang yun look equally old in present time. and that’s like more than 50-60 years later. the confusing part is, xiang yun is both jeanette’s mother and daughter. then huang hui’s character is still alive after taking care of jeanette aw, her daughter. watch the show yourself to get confused. i dont tink i am watching anymore.

The exams are over! I have finished yet another hectic semester and this semester passed damn fast. 4mths over. sigh. i tink time passes faster when u’re older.

This is where I have been for the past 2 weeks. Mugging. I tink i’ve almost never mugged so much b4. wake up ard 10-11+. eat lunch at home. head to sch about 2. stay till about 11 if not later. yupz. my nerd life. and astain from distractions (youtube). I even gave up all my serials (criminal minds, desperate housewives, gossip girl, heroes, house, how i met your mother, prison break, terminator) for 2 weeks! seriously big sacrifice. and i am damn proud i managed to flip through a 600pg textbk. probably wun ever do it again. beeen there done that.

my view from the table.. not bad la. at least i get to see the forest/garden. for those who dont know, i hate studyin inside a room which is small or have no windows. so suffocating! i need a view.

and while i was burying myself in books, the world seemed to be in a turmoil. terror in mumbai. protests in thailand. sometimes, things feel so unreal. like i am living in my own world with studies been all important and the world is just in chaos.

and the weather nowadays seems a little wrong. i expect decemeber to be rainy everyday. not so sunny. but nowadays, when the sun is out, it is so blasting hot! anyway, i rode in the rain that day while on the way to sch, no doubt i was drenched, i tink i have nv had a more fun ride!

during the exam period, compclub (my faculty club) was nice enough to provide SOC students with some light refreshments, biscuits and cup noodle. too bad the picture not clear, else u can see sugar all over the table. the floor had sugar too till teo swept it away. seriously, wat the hell is wrong with these people? wat is morally wrong with them? people give u free things, the least u could do is to keep the place clean. if u spill something, clear it up! seriously, to these pple, i only have 3 words. 没家教. either u suck as a person, or u parents sucked to have brought u up with no principals and morals. Also, there are those NOT from soc who come take the snacks. compclub is not so selfish to deny u, but i have seen non-soc pple take the snacks ar, like its gold, take a lot. ugly students.

and i thot the christmas decor this year was ok (especially with the ERP as part of the decoration, notice just how nice the lights blend in), how come i read so many news responses to say the decor this year very jialat? not like anyone of them paid for it. u all wan better, then contribute some funds and dont complain la!

i thot this was quite interesting. if u cant see clearly, its a cockroach going through all the overdue bills, holding a ridsect insenticide aimed at itself.
