February 19, 2009 at 12:42 pm | In Uncategorized | 2 CommentsI used to like the below 3 things. But now they are losing interest to me.

Let’s start with gossip girl. I used to like the show like quite a bit. Now? not really. every episode is about how great serena is. how poor thing she is. where’s all my scheming and evilness? the show has overplayed the character serena that it gets on my nerves now. and the rest of the character has been quite lacking as well. has the writer’s strike really left the industry with few talents? it’s like character development has fell. everyone is no longer mature and makes dumb decision. it’s like characters purposely keeps secret and creates misunderstanding so that the show can drag on a few episodes.

Heroes. Also quite disappointing. After they took down the "company", an even bigger "company" a.k.a the US garment takes over, and decides to try to capture those with powers. Note, is capture, not kill. If u really wanna keep dangerous pple out, why not kill them? too violent for tv? afraid that all the main stars will be out of the show? worst part, the team, led by nathan, has extreme difficulties trying to capture them alive. I think the show is deliberately trying to drag another season. perhaps they shld just end it with nathan dead since no better story can arise. oh, and the character of claire is so damn irritating. She is so powerless, but always, ALWAYS tink she can save the world, without giving a SINGLE thot of how everyone around her is sacrificing to keep her safe. I would expect a character who has been through her ordeals be more mature about her actions. She apparently thinks she is powerful enuff to save pple (her ability is rejuvenation, meaning she is unbreakable and restricted to self unless she donates her blood to everyone monthly), but lacks the intelligence to do it.

Saved the best for last. For this section, let’s replace the word that sounds faintly like ‘fug’ to ‘gatsby’. POSB (DBS), i am gatsby-ing disappointed with you. U see, i had this card for like 7years at least. i was nv charged an annual fee. but this time round i was. $19.26 (got GST somemore. what the gatsby.). why am i disappointed? First, this card has almost NO gatsby-ing benefits. NO gatsby-ing discounts at dining places. NO gatsby-ing discounts at shopping. NO gatsby-ing credit allowance (at least credit card has a certain credit loan, but since this is a debit, it doesnt). So why the hell should there be a hefty $19.26 annual fee for a card that’s almost useless except signing powers? I can just use NETS or other cards. Second, u see the picture above. the expiry date is feb 2010. but please dont be confused. that is the card’s expiry, not the annual subscription expiry. Third, the bank clearly knows when my annual subscription is gonna expire. so why the gatsby would they not inform me before hand so i can do something about it (btw, they have a promo where if u sign 18 times a year with this card, annual fee is waivered)? Are they so hard up for $19.26 due to their recent gatsby-ing poor performance? Is there no goodwill in the company? Last, as i have mentioned, there is a promo where signing 18times a year waivers off the annual fee. what is the gatsby-ing difference between signing the card 18 times a year and not? Do they earn like $1 per transaction to cover the annual fee cost? All in, i am terribly disappointed with POSB and DBS. I have been a customer for more than 10years? And they want to be petty with me? and considering my future value with the bank (or there’s no CRM within the company)? They have definitely lost a customer. But instead of redrawing all my money and setting up account somewhere else, I will find ways to be a customer with high cost to serve. DBS, u shld go gatsby yourself. I figured if i close my account, my $19.26 would have gone in vain. and finding out little ways to make it cost more to serve me seems to fit my little scheme a tad more worthy and rewarding.

chalet at changi! thy’s birthday! happy 21st my dear again. The chalet is damn nice, probably the nicest i have been to. just short of a bathtub facing the sea. else it would be perfect!

Meal at the Wine company near botanic gardens (sorry if it was too simple). recommended! about 10+ with a G.R.E.A.T ambience (omp-b-yearns)!

i bet no one on earth knows wat the hell this is. only those great imagination or visualizational skills will.

happy valentines day to all. albeit a bit late, but i am sure u all no need my wishes to carry on the day. and no, i am not advestising for starbucks.

let me grumble a while. I drive no BMW, Mercedes, Ferrari or Porche (i have mira though). I own no bungalow, condo, 5-room, 4-room, 3-room, 2-room or even 1-room flat (basically i own no property nor can afford downpayment to any). I don’t switch on air-con every night to sleep (the >5 yr old box serves more of comestic purpose). I don’t own the latest iPhone nor any phone that requires finger pointing to navigate (my k800 has been with me for 2years). I eat the same as my friends (or even less lavishly and am always on the hunt for budget food). I don’t have a lucrative family business to takeover. I dont have a wardrobe full of Zara, Topshop, CK, Boss (i have tons of thai and taiwan stuff though). The furtherest place i have been to is Taiwan. So to my friends, I am sure u know wat i am grumbling about. Thy asks me to look on the positive side. I seriously cant. Am i not affected like the rest of my fellow citizens?
